Criss Cross is based on a book-sized black and orange old wool fragment from Anatolia that Susan Deliss found rummaging among kilims in Istanbul. It had been bound round 2 edges and didn't have an obvious purpose but the strangely contemporary and original pattern intrigued her. She felt it would suit a more contemporary palette so worked with lots of yarn colours and did a lot of sampling with her weavers until she felt happy that all the colours suited the pattern and would look balanced on upholstery. A labour of curiosity and love.
Criss Cross works beautifully for upholstery and cushions and can be used for thick curtains and blinds.
Woven in England.
